Good news: I passed my 3rd sem exams

Bad news: My new time tabke suckz……..big time

I was well aware of wat is going to come in the 4th sem of college this year; now baing called "senior" of diploma course…..makes me feel all the more older as i get on. I thought learning another 6 subjects would kill me enuf, yet something just had to kill me further. I guess no one likes a messy murder scene these days…..

My time table is a total train wreck……really kanasai……and i havent finished the first week of the new sem yet. mondays class is from 11am to 9pm…come on….were having more hours than a typical 9-5job. Tuesdays are from 12pm to 6pm. Weds from 8am to 4pm. Thursdays are the worst i guess…..3 lectures 2hrs each, beginning at 8am till 5pm. Then Friday is a dumb day coz theres only one class at 4 in the afternoon. Cant it be in the morning……..sheesh. waste 2 hrs of my afternoon doing other more useful things. Sats are dreadful as well…..8.30am till 2. Hey, even office ppl get off at 12. terrible……..and just wat i dun need at the moment.

Luckily howevev there was consolation: Passed my exams….again…..yeah yeah i know stop calling me "smart" and "hardworking". sometimes i dun feel i deserve the results i get but then agani, who doesnt want good results. Another 3weeks wait for my results to be posted home. Wonder if i got all A’s? We’ll know soon enuf……….for now, lets just get through the days of living hell……

bye guys….

last week home………

Tuesday, May 23rd, 2006

actually i have 4 days left at home b4 i go back to kl. its always like this……time flies so fast tat i am hardly getting anything started. I came home 3 weeks ago looking forward to a nice relaxing month of holiday-ing and also getting some "work" done.

Cyclingwas not as err….active as the last holidays…..i tink i did abt 100++km this time round. Most gruelling was climbing teluk rubiah hill 4 times then heading over to a SUPER STEEP hill Yu Huang introduced to me. MAn, if u dun have the legs and a decent bike u will NEVER get up that hill. It was like a 50 or 60 degree climb up.Even its just 50++ meters long, its enuf to get a rating of "Parental Advisory". To add to the struggle, theres a sharp road hump along the way….im already peadaling up a 50+degree hill and u add a road hump?! Its killing man…..be my guest if u wanna try…..its just in front of Blue Bay Resort, Lumut.

I got the letter from The Star the other day confirming my entry in the PJ Half Marathon. Its on the 18th if June…..and yeah…im running!!! Gona run the full half marathon. Incase u asked a full marathon is 42km long, a half marathon is 21km. So tats how far im running: 21km. Well i dun think of winning or anything……just enter, have fun, finish the run, test my limits and have an experience to remember. Started training already. So far i can do 4 rounds of padang astaka(1 round is 2.5km) so tat means i can do 10km without much suffering. Hope i can do the last 11 still with legs attached!! If i get under 2hrs 15mins i get a cert of completion…..sounds achievable after my 10km test run was at 52minits. And if i get top 200 runners i get a medal. Well, lets just see wat the outcome is on 18th June .  Darn thing is i gotta be at PJ stadium at 5am for registration. Flag off is at 6.30am. I’ve cycled tat early so maybe running shudnt be too bad.

I finally got to ride with Ah Ho, Albert and Kong Hing last sunday. i got up late actually, so i rushed into my jersey, my shoes, helmet, prep up my bike and zoomed to the petrol station 1st to pump air. it was 7.05 already and when i got to kfc they had left. Called Albert and said they were heading to the Bainun Bridge. Asked me to catch up. Dang……and i had to race down the road…i was tearing up the road at almost 40kmh maintaining speed to catch up. Luckily they were just 5 minits ahead of me and i caught up. Got to see Alberts new bike….Giant TCR Zero with Zipp 404 wheels and Shimano gearset. He even had a Look seatpost…cool. Its a nice bike weighing at 8 kilos. mine is abt 9.5kg. If u lift the bike u can lift it with ur little finger. But Kong Hing;s is at 7 i think. When we stopped at top of the bridge for a break and chit chat we saw other Malay riders going for their own ride. Then there will be lorries passing us. The bikes were parked in such that the pedals acted as the stand:near vertical parking. So as lorries passed us, the wind they generate actually was blowing and moving the bikes. Mine was heavy:Kong Hing and Alberts were light. they almost fell. haha…we all laughed. Then as we talked abt bikes i learned tat the new 2006 Zipp 404 wheelset costs RM6500…….RM6500??!!! For a pair of wheels??? Well not just any wheel……..its the same used in the Tour de France…so wat the heck…..and it had to be my dream wheel set……i thought i was around 3k but 6.5k…..wow…..so ppl…dun be amazed if u see those cyclist with nice bikes..their price tag is around RM3000 to RM16000 and RM20000+ in a few cases. My bike only cost RM1500 not including jersey, shoes, helmet and gloves which is another RM1000 addition. Its a pretty expensive sport but its one of the most fun…to me. haha……yeah u all must be drooling by now.

Oh well, its been a rather nice month at home. comes once a year so i better enjoy it. And now i have to start thinking abt nxt sem!!! Argh!!! 8 subjects!!! And exam results are out on the 31st!!!!Arghhh!!! My life sounds profoundly hectic and stressful doesnt it? Yet i feel like im still enjoying too much. And yet i still survive. Geez……i wonder why….anyway thankz and praise to God! hehe ^0^

More blogs to come!!!!

Battle zone……

Back to my bolg spot. Agenda for this month: Sports. Hot topic: Thomas Cup 2006.

Well i must say that i am also disappointed with our lost to Denmark in the semi’s. And i know many of you are cursing at Beng Hong and Hafiz and Chong Wei for their flop at their matches. And i know u all will be probably giving our players more hostile treatment again and again for their failures.

You know wat?  Its fine if u all want to do that, i have no right to tell u wat to say. But let me tell u this: They never intended to lose. They never gave up. They certianly didnt chicken out of the match.   They gave their all. They fought to the bitter end. To add salt to the wound our skipper Choong Hann is injured and out for 6 months. This wasnt planned okay?!

What i saw when they played the Danes was just sheer guts to rise to the occasion when the cards are down and the odds stacked against them. Yet they go out fighthing, maybe knowing they will lose, but always hoping they will win. Its not easy to fight under huge pressure. Beng Hong wasnt at fault. So why is everyone aiming at him for our failure? Hafiz has a poor record against Kenneth, ok fine, but he didnt say "Ok i guarentee i will beat him and win FOR sure! Watch me!"  Chong Wei and Peter were in a dog fight and Chong Wei missed a few shots. Who’s perfect?  Why cant we give our shuttlers the credibility they deserve? I always pitty at the Malaysian’s for their lack of support when things just dont go our way sometimes. Hey, if Man Utd were beaten by Chelsea and the Man U supporters here can say, "Dont worry, we’ll get them next time," why cant we do the same for our shuttlers? If you are all do great at giving comments and pointing out strategies to win then why not go play and show how its done? Fair enough i should say. If you all have better ideas, lets hear them. I bet Kim Hock, Li Mao and Misbun were already thinking 100 steps ahead when u gave that idea. Oh, then how come it wasnt used in court? Lets so u got out there and play with drives and smashes above 250km/h. Dont forget the shuttle is not served to you on a silver platter. U earn it from the platter.

I applaude the shuttlers for their hardwork, though it wasnt enough, and short, but they fought and earned it. It’s not everyone’s intention to be beaten, and i certainly dont like it, but thats what happens when u compete. What you need to do is keep the dream alive, give it hope, and give support. Honestly if i knew how sweet it would be to lift the Thomas Cup and if i knew how agonisingly long we have waited, by now i would have been trainning as back up already. BUt you people know our education policies: STUDY STUDY STUDY. Parents: STUDY, TUITION, REVISE, NO SPORTS!!!!". Sadly i was cought up in this mentality and life style. And your are all blaming the coaches for not finding talent. Hey people!!!! You are talented!!!! Hey parents!!!! Studies are not everything!!! Yeah their important but what is a piece of paper stating your child’s qualifications than a photo of your child in the Thomas/Uber Cup Squad kissing and lifting the Thomas/Uber Cup throphy? HOw much more pride is there in that for the country and yourselves than getting papers and certs from Oxford or Harvard?  Look at Nicole David. Look at Josiah Ng. Look at the Sidek’s. Who is ever going to look at their exam results? Through them, the world see’s them and Malaysia. What more pride is there than that???

If you want to make a change for the nation, here’s what im going to say: "DO IT NOW!!!"
